Utah has built one of America’s strongest economies because of our entrepreneurial culture, skilled workforce, and ddisposition to innovate. Underlying that success is something I believe deeply in: capitalism and free enterprise remain the greatest engines for expanding opportunity and improving people’s lives. Government has an important role in setting fair rules, but lasting prosperity comes from people who take risks, build businesses, and create jobs.

That means keeping taxes competitive, reducing unnecessary regulation, expanding domestic energy and mineral production, strengthening American supply chains, and ensuring workers have the skills employers need. As a member of the Senate Small Business Committee, I am particularly focused on ensuring Washington works for entrepreneurs and small businesses rather than creating barriers they can least afford to navigate.

Affordability has also become a top priority. That’s why I’m working to advance legislation that will help increase Utah’s housing supply for both affordable rentals and aspiring home buyers, expand domestic energy production to bring down utility costs, and provide tax relief for hardworking families.

Utah is positioned to lead in technology, aerospace, manufacturing, energy, mining, and other industries critical to our nation’s future, and our success is proof that when people are given the freedom to innovate, work hard, and build something of their own, opportunity follows. I want to make sure the next generation of Utahns has that same chance.
