I realized last minute that I didn’t have a passport for my 6 month old, who we were planning to take to England with us at the end of the month. I asked around to friends and family and someone recommended emailing a state senator. I felt a little silly emailing a senator about my baby’s passport but I was desperate so I gave it a shot. I was very pleasantly surprised when I heard back within just a couple of hours. Sophia sent me the documents I needed and told me exactly what I needed to do to get his passport back in time. We received his passport within 5 days. We are grateful for Senator John Curtis’ office and all of their help in getting us his passport in time!
I’m incredibly grateful for Senator Curtis’ office and the help they provided with my case. I had been struggling to correct my birthdate with USCIS—a process that felt impossible and overwhelming. Thanks to their dedication and support, my birthdate was finally fixed. Their team went above and beyond, and I truly appreciate everything they did for me.
I am a retired military officer. I currently live in Thailand. I turned 62 this year and applied online to start my Social Security benefits. After 4 months the Social Security Agency had still not acted on my request. Within one week of contacting Senator Curtis’s office I received a phone call from the Overseas Pacific Social Security Office in the Philippines for a phone interview, then a week after that my application was approved and I received my first Social Security payment, which included the 4 months of back pay. I’m sure it was from the proactive actions of Senator Curtis’s office that this happened. Thank you very much for your assistance!
I was having a difficult time getting my military record so I could qualify for a VA loan. After several months that frustrated me in this regard, I finally turned to Senator Curtis and his staff to help me obtain these records in a timely basis. They not only facilitated the gathering of this information, but it resulted in finally obtaining a certificate of eligibility for a VA loan. I thank them for their efforts since they have sincerely produced for me.
After selling my business in April 2001, my CPA filed my tax return showing a large refund, but months passed with no check and no answers from the IRS. After seeing in Senator John Curtis’ e-newsletter that Madeline had helped someone with a tax issue, I reached out to her. She was incredibly helpful and worked with her IRS liaison, who discovered there was an unexplained hold on my refund. Thanks to Madeline’s involvement, the hold was released, and I received my check on April 30, 2026. I am so grateful for her help and wonder how long the IRS would have held my refund without her assistance.
I reached out to Senator John Curtis for assistance in bringing my family to the United States through a petition I had filed. I am incredibly grateful for the unwavering support I received from Senator Curtis and his team. Their efforts played a vital role in the approval of my case, and I am overjoyed that my family will soon be reunited with me in the United States. I can attest that Senator John Curtis has a unique ability to help people rediscover their lost smile, something I have personally benefited from.
The assistance I requested was handled in a very timely manner, which resulted in the solution needed to ensure mine and my wife’s health care was implemented within the open season timeline. I sincerely appreciate efforts made by Senator Curtis staff to make sure this important health care matter was successfully completed within the mandated times lines. This experience has reinforced my confidence in my Senator and his staff.
I have been trying for over a year to get the Social security office to please send the money they took out of my account a few months after my husband died in 2024. I did everything they asked me to do. I sent in my bank statement, the notice they sent to my bank. I called them every 3 weeks as they asked, and every call was the same, it may take another 90 days, or we are short handed. I sent an email to Senator Curtis’ office and they replied back with emails and within 7 weeks, the Social security had returned the money that was due to me! Senator Curtis and his staff Barry are amazing. Thank you, for listening and thank you for helping me.
I called regarding a problem with Medicare because after multiple months and multiple letters, I was getting no where. Barry jumped right on it, kept me apprised of the progress of investigating and solving the problem. He had the needed info to solve the problem in under two weeks. He even offered to help me with the last step to solve the problem, filing for a waiver, but I was able to do that on my own. Simply amazing.
Madeline was helpful as we navigated the 501(c)3 process after having several stumbles and not getting any answers from the IRS. Madeline was so supportive and communicated often of any changes or recommendations for resolving our issue. We were able to finally secure our accreditation of a not for profit organization.
I could not reach OPM to find out when and how much I would be receiving from my husband’s annuity after he passed away. I attempted to reach someone for two months with the phone being disconnected due to having a high call volume. I needed to be able to figure out how to live if I wasn’t going to be receiving anything for a while. The Senator’s office found out that my case was stuck in the legal office. The person who was helping me they let it be known this was an urgent matter. 6 months went by before I received any money and 7 months went by before I knew the final amount. Any communication I received from the government was via letters so I was glad to have the Senator’s office helping. I can’t imagine how long it would have been without the help.
I had an issue that should have been resolved quickly, but beginning in July 2025 it became delayed between an insurance company, the SBA, and me. When I could not break through the federal impasse, I contacted Senator Curtis’s office for help reopening communication with the affected parties. Senator Curtis’s caseworker, Madeline Christianson, was polite, professional, and instrumental in helping crack the code, restore communication, and bring the matter to a satisfactory resolution. I am extremely grateful to Senator Curtis’s staff, especially Madeline, for pushing through the bureaucratic barriers to solve my problem. Utah’s junior senator and his staff are top-notch representatives of their constituents and deserve thanks and recognition.
