The United States has a lasting obligation to the men and women who served and sacrificed our country. Veterans should not have to navigate an unnecessarily complicated federal bureaucracy to receive the health care, benefits, education, and support they deserved and have earned through their service.

That responsibility has particular significance in Utah. Our state is home to a proud community of veterans, active-duty servicemembers, military families, and defense installations. Supporting veterans also means helping servicemembers successfully transition into civilian careers and ensuring their skills and experience are recognized and utilized by employers.

My office has dedicated staff to support veterans navigating the federal bureaucracy. If you can’t get an answer from a federal agency like the VA in a timely fashion, or if you feel you have been treated unfairly, our office may be able to help resolve a problem or get you the information you need. I support improving accountability and responsiveness at the Department of Veterans Affairs, strengthening access to physical and mental health care, and making it easier for veterans to access their benefits. I have also supported efforts to improve the military’s Transition Assistance Program so servicemembers are better prepared for employment and education after leaving active duty.
