The Senate today passed legislation introduced by Senator Curtis to overturn the Biden Administration’s Environmental Protection Agency rule reestablishing the so-called “Once In, Always In” policy under the Clean Air Act. The resolution, passed by a simple majority vote, restores a pathway for emissions reductions to be recognized in regulatory classification—allowing chemical manufacturers, refineries, and energy producers to make environmental improvements without being penalized by permanent red tape.

Senators Curtis, Hickenlooper, Sheehy, and Padilla announced growing support from state and local government officials, community leaders, and industry stakeholders for the Fix Our Forests Act. The Senators introduced the bipartisan legislation—which aims to combat catastrophic wildfires, restore forest ecosystems, and make federal forest management more efficient and responsive—last week.

In a letter to Senate Majority Leader Thune, Senators Curtis, Murkowski, Tillis, and Moran expressed their support for maintaining a stable and predictable tax framework in the interest of promoting domestic energy development.
