Your editorial “A Big Social-Media Shakedown” (Jan. 28) gets it mostly right. The public-policy debate around social media shouldn’t center on holding companies liable for user-generated content. It should instead focus on what platforms do control: personalized, recommendation-based algorithms deliberately designed in ways that addict, isolate and harm users.
